Investors in People has been working with the Department of Health aims to develop business through addressing health and wellbeing in the workplace.
Background
We believe that organisations who successfully address the issue of Health and Wellbeing at Work can significantly address the following issues:
| Loyalty and advocacy |
Staff turnover |
| Morale costs |
Absence Rates |
| Staff retention |
Agency cover costs |
| Productivity |
Health Insurance |
| Quality and customer satisfaction |
Litigation costs |
|
Recruitment costs |
The Investors in People Standard already provides the foundation for wellbeing at work. However, in order to help organisations improve, additional focus has been developed.
Our aim with Health & Wellbeing at Work is to establish whether this new focus is relevant to include in our Standard when it is next reviewed.
We have now piloted this new focus with over 350 organisations around the UK. Evaluations of three pilot periods have provided some very positive feedback indicating many employers value this new foucs.
