Developing the Standard
Developing the Standard
Over the course of the last 15 years, Investors in People has developed an effective and wide reaching business improvement tool.  Whilst the Investors in People Standard continues to be a very successful and widely praised framework, we recognise the importance in this ever changing environment for UK organisations of evaluating and revising our core product.

Developing of the Standard involves a process of in depth research and analysis, ensuring we understand our clients’ needs in order to help them to maintain a productive and well managed working environment.  Our research involves evaluating the current Investors in People Standard and other products, assessing what issues future revisions of the Standard should include, and identifying the business benefits of Investors in People.

Investors in People research work informs areas for development and reflecting new approaches to organisational development, people management, and other new opportunities.  However, in order to ensure that there are real business and employee benefits to future additions to the Standard, we are committed to developing and testing the effectiveness of these ideas.

The Investors in People Standard is currently reviewed between every 3 to 5years.  This process involves the evaluation of research and product development, as well as extensive consultations with employers, employees, leaders in people management, government institutions, Investors in People assessors, amongst many others.  It is through researching the facts, extensive piloting of new areas of development, and listening to clients and other experts that the integrity and effectiveness of Investors in People Standard is maintained.
