Investors in People has developed our framework over 17 years in consultation with some of the world's leading organisations. You can work with The Standard – the foundation of good management practice - or go broader and deeper and be tested against the full framework. A sample of some of the questions the full framework poses includes:
- How successful is your organisation at developing effective managers and inspirational leaders?
- Are your organisation's values widely shared and believed?
- What return do you gain from your investment in people?
- Does your organisation allow talented people to thrive?
- Is your organisation's culture geared to delivering continuous improvement?
Continuous development – a vision for your future
Working with the Investors in People framework will help you identify areas of strength and those that require further development. It looks at how deeply embedded good practice is within your organisation and measures your progress in translating commitment and strategy into culture and everyday practice. This approach enables our assessors to provide feedback on where you need to focus attention so you can continuously develop and improve performance.
The framework can also help you focus on achieving your organisation’s vision, through better planning for the future and tighter integration with your business strategy. How you determine appropriate Key Performance Indicators for planning and evaluating activity is also something you could choose to focus on beyond The Standard.
The framework also provides you with the opportunity to benchmark your performance across the range of people management and development activities by comparing your organisation’s achievement to averages for other leading employers.
