Internal review is an alternative way of being assessed, where employees in the organisation play more of a role in collecting evidence. How it works is that a team of your employees will be trained up as internal assessors. This will enable them to gather evidence for your assessment under the direction and control of an external managing assessor.

Only recognised organisations, are allowed to use the internal review approach to assessment. It is mainly our larger customers and those that have been working with Investors in People for several years, who adopt internal review.

Making the internal review approach work depends on having a team of dedicated employees who believe in the benefits of Investors in People. Once you’ve got a team of internal reviewers set up, they often prove to be very powerful advocates for Investors in People and can help you facilitate management practice changes more effectively across your organisation.
