The aim of this section is to give you a tour of IIP Interactive and to explain how you can get the most out of this free business improvement tool.
Everything in IIP Interactive revolves around 5 key management practices (Strategic Planning, Effective Management, Developing People, Culture and Communication and Managing Performance) which link directly to the Investors in People Standard.
IIP Interactive has the breadth and flexibility to cater for your needs whatever the sector you operate in or the size of your organisation.
If you are new to Investors in People, this is an ideal place to 'experience' how The Standard can help you improve your organisation's performance.
If you already work with Investors in People this tool is just one of the ways you can track your progress.
There are several options for using IIP Interactive
- Know your strengths and development areas
Through the diagnostic you can identify where you are against the Investors in People Standard and what are your strengths and areas for development.
- Manage your progress
The diagnostic can be used to review and update progress as you work through the 5 management practices. You can refer back to your original diagnostic and monitor your progress over time.
- Free information and resources
Interactive features a library of useful information, with many guides, examples and templates you can download, customise and use time and time again.
- Going further
One of the free features available to you through IIP Interactive is 'Going Further'. this area provides information and best practice on working beyond The Standard for those who want stretch and challenge through the Investors in People extended framework.
This preview shows you how you can manage your progress after you have taken the diagnostic.
Within each management practice we have a section on “Involve your people” and “Review” as continual improvement is not something you can do in isolation.
IIP Interactive suggests how things can be done, but you will need to work offline in order to embed any changes in your organisation. Two key questions need to be asked continually – “Do we have the evidence to evaluate this?” and “Have we involved our people?”
- Re-visiting IIP Interactive and reviewing and updating your progress can give you a good account of how your organisation is progressing and how it fairs against The Standard.
- Please note that the preview uses the strategic planning section as an example. The preview features static screenshots of Interactive with yellow boxes to provide explanatory information.
