BASIC HELP ISSUES

Q:  Can you help me with my password?
A:  Click here to be emailed your password. Passwords are not case sensitive in IIP Interactive.

Q:  Can you help me with my username?
A:  For IIP Interactive, please remember that your username is your email address.

Q:  How can I find the home page of IIP Interactive?
A:  Clicking on the grey panel in the top left that says “IIP Interactive” will always take you back to the tool’s home page.

Q: How can I find the home page for Investors in People Main Website?
A. Please note that if you click on the Investors in People logo, this will take you out of the tool and direct you to the Investors in People main website.

Q:  How can I change my account details?
A:  Once you have logged in, click on the Manage My Account Button on the blue bar in the top right of the screen. This will allow you to update your preferences for a range of different things.

Q: What is “Make contact” and should I choose it?
A: IIP Interactive has an option called “Make contact” that you can opt into when registering or later through your “Manage Account” page. “Make contact” brings you closer to your Investors in People Centre, which means they can provide you with relevant advice and support throughout your Investors in People journey . When you choose ‘Make contact' your Centre may contact you to see how you are progressing, offer help, or make you aware of useful activities and events.

 If you choose “Make contact” then your local Investors in People Centre will be able to view the following information:

Contact details: Organisation name; Contact name; Telephone number and Email address.
Date Registered (the date you registered with IIP Interactive).
Investors in People Status (whether you are a recognised, committed, or new to Investors in People).
Last Login (the date of the last time you last logged into IIP Interactive).
Diagnostic Status (whether you have completed the Diagnostic).
Diagnostic results (the overall result of your most recent Diagnostic)
Usage (the number of times you have logged in to IIP Interactive since registration).
Progress (your overall progress from using the tool).


Q:  How can I allow someone else to view my progress with IIP Interactive?
A:  Once you have logged in, click on the Manage My Account Button on the blue bar in the top right of the screen. Here you will find an option to enable your colleagues to be additional users. These authorised colleagues will be able to use the tool as you can (i.e. to update progress, do the diagnostic, select their preferred learning style). The one exception is that they will not be able to update your account details (such as address, password etc) in the Manage Your Account page.

Q:  How can I find out where my nearest Investors in People Centre is?
A:  When you register, IIP Interactive should be able to establish which centre is nearest to you by your postcode. To find out which Investors in People Centre this is, click here to go to the Make contact Information Screen. Alternatively, there is a map on our main website click here to access this or ring the Investors in People Customer Service Line on 020 7467 1946.

Q:  How can I book a workshop?

One you have logged into IIP Interactive there is a listing of local events and workshops in your area on the homepage. If you click on ‘more events’ at the bottom of this list, it will take you to a page detailing all the events and workshops which your local Investors in People Centre is running, together with contact details so you can find out more information or book a place.

ADVICE ON HOW TO USE THE TOOL

Q:  How do I update my section progress in the tool?
A: The best place to learn how to update your section progress is in the Preview section. Click here to go to the relevant page.

Q: Do I have to do IIP Interactive’s diagnostic to work with the tool?
A: The diagnostic is optional and you can work through the tool without taking the diagnostic, updating progress as you proceed.  However, the diagnostic provides a useful indication of your strengths and areas of developments, so many users would benefit from doing it first.

Q: How can I search the IIP Interactive materials only?
A:  Yes, for users logged onto the tool the search option automatically looks for materials within IIP Interactive only.  However, the dropdown box beside the search option will allow you to choose to search for materials in Investors in People main website instead.  For users not logged onto IIP Interactive, the reverse is the case and you will need to choose the IIP Interactive in the dropdown box.  If you inadvertently leave IIP Interactive when doing a search, please click the following to return:  www.investorsinpeople.co.uk/interactive

Q:  What can I do if I am getting lost on IIP Interactive?
A:  Underneath the blue menu bar IIP Interactive will display some text explaining your location on the site (e.g. Home > Where Do We Go from Here > Strategic Planning).  By clicking on this, you will be able to easily navigate back through the tool.  Please note there is also a helpful site map that can be accessed at the bottom of every page.

Q:  How can I get the video blogs to work?
A:  In order to view the video blogs you need to have Windows Media Player.  This is already installed on many computers.  If not installed on your PC, Windows Media Player can be downloaded for free if you click herePlease note that Mac users can download a capatible Windows Media Player for free if you click here.

Q: Why does the tool focus on 5 management practices?

A.  The management practices cover 5 core areas of the Investors in People Standard.  Using terms frequently used by employers, the management practices help users to focus on the Investors in People Standard.  This is best demonstrated by the chart showing how each management practice links with the focus of the Investors in People assessment that can be viewed if you click here.

Q: How should I begin using IIP Interactive?

A: IIP Interactive has been designed so that you can use in a number of different ways, all helping you to focus on areas important to the Investors in People Standard.  However, if new to the tool, you are recommended to view the Preview part of the site available if you click here.  The Preview section will help you understand how to navigate through the site, accessing useful information and updating progress.
