What is happening?
The Government has announced that the UK Commission for Employment and Skills will assume responsibility for the Investors in People framework, brand and range of services , from 1 April 2010.
The move will place Investors in People at the heart of the business improvement agenda and ensure that it continues to play a key role in driving enhanced productivity. This will benefit organisations, both public and private, and their employees.

Why are we writing to you?
We are writing to tell you about this change and also to notify you of the data transfer. The Data Protection Act 1998 (as amended) requires us to inform you that any personal data you have provided will be transferred to the UK Commission by 1 April 2010.
What does this mean for me?
This will not mean any change in the way you work with Investors in People.
What data does Investors in People UK hold about my organisation?
Investors in People UK and your local Centre hold your organisations information and contact details, for example address and phone number, as well as details for the main Investors in People contact. We also have details of your organisations Investors in People history.
These details are used for keeping in touch and also help us to ensure you receive the right standard of service.
What will the UK Commission use my data for?
Your data is important to us. The UK Commission will continue to use your data for the award, development and promotion of the Investors in People standard and for keeping in touch with you as a valuable user of the service.
Will my data be held securely at the UK Commission?
Yes – the data will be transferred and held securely following best practices set out in the Cabinet Office HMG Security Policy Framework
When will the transfer take place?
The data will be transferred by 1 April 2010, the date when the UK Commission assumes responsibility for Investors in People.
What do I do if I have changes to my details?

What do I do if I don’t want my data to be transferred?
If you don’t want your data to be transferred please inform us at customerdata@iipuk.co.uk However, this would mean the UK Commission cannot keep in touch with you.
